無限無聊 Infinite Boredom | Graduation Project
A  INTRODUCTION

當下的娛樂方式更迭不休,但我們卻越來越容易陷入“無聊漩渦”之中。無聊又被稱為“現代社會的瘟疫”。我們由此為切入點,對“無聊”現象及其產生原因進行了研究,對二十個具有“無聊”特質的現象作出了思維模式的闡釋及視覺化呈現。希望透過以“無限無聊”為主題的沉浸式體驗空間,展開一場直面“無聊”的對話。

“無限無聊”分別從“凝視無聊”“觸感視界”“時間流動”三個方面,
闡述情緒與感官之間的關係。

Today's forms of entertainment are endless, but it's increasingly easy to get caught up in the "boredom spiral." Boredom is also known as "the plague of modern society".As a starting point, we studied the phenomenon of "boredom" and its causes, and explained and visualized the thinking mode of 20 phenomena with the characteristics of "boredom".Through the immersive experience space with the theme of "infinite boredom", we hope to launch a dialogue to face "boredom".

"Infinite boredom" expounds the relationship between emotions and senses from three aspects: "Stare at the boredom", "Tactile impression" and "Time flows".



“凝視無聊”呈現了二十個具有“無聊”特質現象的動畫作品。把法國費爾南·萊熱的“柱體派”風格與日本五木田智央的黑白漸變風格創新性地融合在一起。

以黑白灰的色調、規律性的漸變、冰冷的金屬感來詮釋“無聊”,以線性運動規律來表現重複、規律、機械的“無聊”狀態。動畫在現場展示中加了聲控技術來進行操控播放,觀眾發出音量的大小決定了動畫播放速度的快慢以及畫面變形幅度的大小。


"Stare at the boredom" presents 20 animated works with the phenomenon of "boredom". Fernand Léger's "column style" and Tomoo Gokita’s black and white gradient style innovative fusion together.

It interprets "boredom" with the tone of black, white and grey, the gradual change of regularity and the cold metallic sense, and presents the repetitive, regular and mechanical "boredom" state with the linear motion law.In the animation, voice control technology is added to the live demonstration to control the playback. The volume of the audience determines the speed of the animation and the deformation amplitude of the picture.

“觸感視界”由創意編程遊戲和人機互動體驗組成。無聊情緒是一種低喚醒的狀態。即便你剛接觸新事物時會感覺到興奮有趣,但再持續體驗一會注意力便會開始分散。這與心流理論有著密切的關係。當一件事的挑戰難度低及所需技能水準中等時,人們更容易進入一個無聊的狀態。就像你體驗“無聊遊戲”,剛開始的興趣驅散後,遊戲的技能水準需求和低挑戰難度越來越低,你可能就會產生厭倦的情緒。這也是“無聊”產生的過程之一。

“無聊遊戲”是通過編程對滑鼠進行操控,從而達到物體清除、畫面切換、點狀追隨等效果。

"Tactile impression" consists of creative programming games and human-computer interaction experiences.Boredom is a state of low arousal.Even if you feel excited and interesting when you first learn something new, you will start to lose focus after a while.This is related to flow theory. People are more likely to get bored when the challenge is low and the skill level is moderate.Just as you experience a "boring game", you may feel bored after the initial interest dissipates and the skill level and challenge level of the game becomes lower and lower.This is one of the processes of boredom.

"Boring game" is to control the mouse through programming, so as to achieve the object clearing, screen switching, point - like follow and other effects.

觀眾站在最佳體驗位置上伸出左手,投影畫面上的白點即代表觀眾的左手,當手揮動畫面中的字體,用點構成的字體就會被打散然後隨即恢復。呈現的狀態就好像你不斷抗拒無聊,而其陰影卻一直籠罩著你,像灰塵粒子彌漫在空氣中。

The viewer stands in the best position to extend his left hand. The white dot on the projection represents the viewer's left hand. When the hand waves the font in the screen, the font formed by the dots will be broken and then restored.It's as if you're resisting boredom, and its shadow hangs over you, like dust particles in the air.


C  Visual Extension

通過將每個“無聊事件”中的象徵元素抽象化,符號化、視覺化,設計出對應的海報。試圖以平面形式激發當代人對“無聊”認識和理解。

By abstracting, symbolizing and visualizing the symbolic elements in each "boring event", the corresponding poster was designed.It attempts to stimulate people's awareness and understanding of "boredom" in a flat form.



“時間流動”是關於二十個具有“無聊”特質的時鐘,把“無聊事件”的象徵元素與“時鐘”進行結構重組。其理念是大多數具有無聊評級的事件都在時間中出現、持續和流逝,當我們感到無聊的時候可能會感到時間產生扭曲、緩慢、凍結。​​​​​​​

"Time flows" is about twenty clocks with a "boring" quality, recombining the symbolic elements of "boring events" with the "clock" structure.The idea is that most events with a boredom rating occur, persist, and pass through time, and when we get bored we may feel time warp, slow, and freeze.

觀眾可以根據自己對這件事的印象及感受撥動時鐘的秒針、分針和時針,感受無聊所帶來的時間扭曲感。無聊可能令人出現冰冷、低興奮、低喚醒的狀態,這與具有冷藏與凍結功能的冰箱共同陳列展示,能夠加強視覺衝擊力和感官感受。​​​​​​​

The audience can experience the time distortion caused by boredom according to their own impression and feeling of the second hand, minute hand and hour hand of the clock.Boredom can make people appear cold, low excitement, low arousal state, which is displayed together with the refrigerator with the function of refrigeration and freezing, can enhance the visual impact and sensory experience.

把報紙中部分資訊用刮刮紙貼住,參觀者需要刮開遮擋部分才能閱讀完整的資訊。雖然刮刮紙與報紙的結合會把簡單的事情複雜化,但是也為無趣的報紙增添一絲趣味。

Part of the information in the newspaper is pasted with scratch paper, and visitors need to scratch off the cover to read the whole information.While the combination of scratch paper and newspaper can complicate simple things, it can also add a little spice to a boring newspaper.





對我們而言“無聊”可能是無時無刻,亦可能是隨時隨地。“無限無聊”這個作品可能僅僅淺顯地展示“無聊”,沒有把這個晦澀難懂的情緒弄透徹,生活本來亦無需如此的徹頭徹尾,你只需要淺顯地認識,有個人的方法論即可。當你再次喊出“無聊”的時候,並不需要感到羞恥不安,你要知道這是個全人類都無法逃避的問題,若你能直面它激發個人的創造力、創造新的目標,亦或者享受它,這都是與“無聊”最融洽的相處方式。
